The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
56 verses, revealed in Mecca after Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil) before The Key (Al-Faatehah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
O you who are clothed! 1 arise and warn, 2 And your Lord (Allah) magnify! 3 and purify your robes, 4 And uncleanliness avoid 5 And show not favour, seeking wordly gain! 6 And for the good-will of thy Lord be thou patient. 7 When the trumpet is sounded,. 8 that Day will be a hard and distressing Day. 9 It will not be easy for those who deny the truth. 10 Let Me alone with him whom I created lonely. 11 whom I have endowed with abundant riches, 12 And sons present by his side. 13 and whom I have provided with every resource, 14 then he is eager that I should do more. 15 By no means! Verily he hath been unto Our signs a foe. 16 On him I shall impose a fearful doom. 17 Indeed he thought, and inwardly decided. 18 Perish he! How maliciously he devised! 19 Again accursed be he, how evilly did he decide! 20 and then he looks [around for new arguments,] 21 Then he frowned and scowled, 22 Then he turned back and was proud; 23 and says, "All this is mere spellbinding eloquence handed down [from olden times]! 24 Naught is this but the word of Man. 25 I will cast him into Hell-fire 26 And what could make thee conceive what hell-fire is? 27 It leaves and spares no one and nothing. 28 It strips away the hide of man. 29 Over it are appointed nineteen. 30 And We have set none but angels as Guardians of the Fire; and We have fixed their number only as a trial for Unbelievers,- in order that the People of the Book may arrive at certainty, and the Believers may increase in Faith,- and that no doubts may be left for the People of the Book and the Believers, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the Unbelievers may say, "What symbol doth Allah intend by this?" Thus doth Allah leave to stray whom He pleaseth, and guide whom He pleaseth: and none can know the forces of thy Lord, except He and this is no other than a warning to mankind. 31

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
