The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Read: In the name of thy Lord Who createth, 1 Created man from an embryo; 2 Read! Your Lord is the Most Bountiful One 3 who, by the pen, taught the human being: 4 The One Who taught man all what he did not know. 5 Nay! Verily, man does transgress all bounds (in disbelief and evil deed, etc.). 6 for he believes himself to be self-sufficient. 7 Verily, to thy Lord is the return (of all). 8 Seest thou one who forbids- 9 A votary when he (turns) to pray? 10 Have you seen if he is upon guidance 11 or orders piety? 12 Bethinkest thou, if he belieth and turneth away? 13 Does he not know that Allah sees everything? 14 No indeed; if he does not desist, We shall drag him by the forelock; 15 A forelock that lies, is sinful. 16 So let him call on his concourse! 17 We, will call the Zabania (the harsh angels of Hell). 18 No indeed! Do not obey him, but prostrate yourself and come closer to God. ۩ 19
True are the words of God the Almighty.
