Noah had called upon Us (earlier). See, how excellent We were in answering him! 75 And We delivered him and his people from the great affliction. 76 And We made his offspring the survivors. 77 And We perpetuated to him (praise) among the later generations. 78 Peace be upon Nooh, among the entire people. 79 Thus do We reward all those who do good. 80 Verily, he [Nuh (Noah)] was one of Our believing slaves. 81 Afterwards We drowned the others. 82 ۞ And indeed, among his kind was Abraham, 83 When he came to his Lord with a heart compliant, 84 and when he said to his father and to his nation: 'What do you worship? 85 “What! You desire, through fabrication, Gods other than Allah?” 86 "Then what is your idea about the Lord of the worlds?" 87 He cast a glance at the stars 88 And he said: verily I am about to be sick. 89 So they departed from him turning their backs. 90 Then he turned to their gods, and said: 'What do you eat? 91 What is wrong with you that you do not speak?" 92 Then he turned upon them, striking them with his right hand, 93 [But] then the others came towards him hurriedly [and accused him of his deed]. 94 He said, “What! You worship what you yourselves have sculpted?” 95 “Whereas Allah has created you and your actions?” 96 They said, "Build a pyre for him and throw him into the blaze!" 97 So they contrived a plot against him, but We made them abject. 98 (Abraham) said, "I will go to my Lord who will guide me". 99 Abraham prayed, "Lord, grant me a righteous son". 100 We gave him the good news that he would have a patient, forbearing son. 101 And when he attained to working with him, he said: O my son! surely I have seen in a dream that I should sacrifice you; consider then what you see. He said: O my father! do what you are commanded; if Allah please, you will find me of the patient ones. 102 Then when the twain had submitted themselves and he had prostrated him upon his temple. 103 We called out to him: "O Abraham, 104 thou hast confirmed the vision; even so We recompense the good-doers. 105 that surely was a manifest trial, 106 And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice (i.e. a ram); 107 and left for him among the later folk 108 'Peace be upon Abraham' 109 That is how We reward those who do good. 110 For he was one of our believing Servants. 111 We gave him the glad news of the birth of Isaac, one of the righteous Prophets. 112 And We showered Our blessings on him and on Ishaq; and of their offspring are the doers of good, and (also) those who are clearly unjust to their own souls. 113
