To whosoever blinds himself from the Remembrance of the Merciful, We shall assign him a satan so he is his companion, 36 and they bar them from the way, and they think they are guided, 37 But when he comes to Us, he will say (to his satan): “Would that there had been between me and you the distance as between the East and the West. How evil a companion you were!” 38 (It will be said to them) “And you will not benefit from them this day, whereas you are unjust – for you are all partners in the punishment.” 39 Canst thou then make the deaf to hear, or give direction to the blind or to such as (wander) in manifest error? 40 Whether We take thee away, We shall take vengeance upon them, 41 Or We shall show thee that (accomplished) which We have promised them: for verily We shall prevail over them. 42 So hold you (O Muhammad SAW) fast to that which is inspired in you. Verily, you are on a Straight Path. 43 it is certainly a reminder to you and to your people and you will soon be called to account. 44 And ask those of Our messengers whom We sent before thee: Did We ever appoint gods to be worshipped beside the Beneficent? 45
