The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 And who softly release the soul. (Of the believer) 2 and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 Hearts on that day shall palpitate, 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 After having turned to carious bones?" 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). 21 Then he turned his back, striving. 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 So Allah, seized him with punishment for his last [i.e. his saying: "I am your lord, most high") (see Verse 79:24)] and first [(i.e. his saying, "O chiefs! I know not that you have a god other than I" (see Verse 28:38)] transgression. 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
