The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 And when the stars darken, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, 4 when the savage beasts shall be mustered, 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 questions are asked about the baby girls buried alive, 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 And when the Garden is brought nigh, 13 Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 This is not the utterance of an accursed devil. 25 So where are you going? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
