Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful

May the hands of Abu Lahab perish, may he be ruined. 1 Neither his wealth nor his gains will avail him. 2 [In the life to come] he shall have to endure a fire fiercely glowing; 3 And his wife, the portress of fire wood, 4 shall have a rope of palmfiber around her neck! 5

True are the words of God the Almighty.
