They are asking thee concerning the Spirit. Say: The Spirit is by command of my Lord, and of knowledge ye have been vouchsafed but little. 85 Had We wanted, We could have removed the Spirit through whom We sent you revelation. Then you would not have found anyone to intercede with Us for you 86 (It is naught) save mercy from thy Lord. Lo! His kindness unto thee was ever great. 87 Say: "If the mankind and the jinns were together to produce the like of this Quran, they could not produce the like thereof, even if they helped one another." 88 We have mentioned in this Quran all kinds of examples for the human being, but most human beings turn away in disbelief. 89 They declare, "We will never believe in you until you cause a spring to flow for us from the earth; 90 or you (show) us that you have your own garden of palm trees and vines with flowing streams therein, 91 or cause the sky to fall into pieces on us - as you believe you can - or bring God and the angels face to face with us, 92 Or thou have a house of gold; or thou ascend up into heaven, and even then we will put no faith in thine ascension till thou bring down for us a book that we can read. Say (O Muhammad): My Lord be Glorified! Am I aught save a mortal messenger? 93
