Tell them the story of Abraham, 69 Behold, he said to his father and his people: "What worship ye?" 70 They said: "We worship idols, and to them we are ever devoted." 71 He said: hearken they unto you when ye cry? 72 "Or do they benefit you or do they harm (you)?" 73 They said: "No. But we found our fathers doing so." 74 He said: have ye observed that which ye worship 75 You and your fathers? 76 "Verily! They are enemies to me, save the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists); 77 who created me; and He guides me, 78 “And the One Who feeds me and gives me to drink.” 79 and, whenever I am sick, heals me, 80 And who will cause me to die and then bring me to life 81 and who I am eager shall forgive me my offence on the Day of Doom. 82 [And he said], "My Lord, grant me authority and join me with the righteous. 83 And grant me a reputation of honor among later generations. 84 And place me among the inheritors of the Garden of Delight, 85 “And forgive my father* – he is indeed astray.” (His paternal uncle) 86 And do not disgrace me on the day when they are raised from the graves, 87 The day when neither wealth nor children will be of any avail 88 But to him who comes to God with a tranquil heart." 89 (On that Day) the Garden will be brought near to the God-fearing, 90 and Hell advanced for the perverse. 91 And it will be said to them, “Where are those whom you used to worship?” 92 other than Allah? Do they help you or even help themselves' 93 So they and all the astray were flung into hell. 94 And the hosts of Iblis all together. 95 They shall say, as they dispute there one with another, 96 By Allah, we have indeed been in an error manifest. 97 When we equalled you with the Lord of the worlds. 98 It was nothing but the evildoers who led us astray. 99 Now we have no intercessors, 100 no loyal friend. 101 “So if only were we to go back, in order to become Muslims!” 102 In this there is evidence (of the truth), but many of them do not have any faith. 103 Verily your Lord is mighty and merciful. 104
