And a sign for them is the dead land, that We quickened and brought forth from it grain, whereof they eat; 33 And We have placed therein gardens of the date-palm and grapes, and We have caused springs of water to gush forth therein, 34 so that they may eat of the fruit thereof, though it was not their hands that made it. Will they not, then, be grateful? 35 Glory be to Him Who created pairs of all things, of what the earth grows, and of their kind and of what they do not know. 36 And a sign for them is the night, We withdraw therefrom the day, and behold, they are in darkness. 37 And the sun runneth on unto a resting-place for him. That is the measuring of the Mighty, the Wise. 38 And the moon, We have measured for it mansions (to traverse) till it returns like the old dried curved date stalk. 39 Neither does it lie in the sun's power to overtake the moon nor can the night outstrip the day. All glide along, each in its own orbit. 40 And a token unto them is that We bear their offspring in the laden ship, 41 And We have created for them the like of it in which they board. 42 And if We will, We can drown them, so there would be no help in their distress, nor would they be saved. 43 Unless by mercy from Us, and as a comfort for a while. 44 And when it is said to them: "Beware of that which is before you (worldly torments), and that which is behind you (torments in the Hereafter), in order that you may receive Mercy (i.e. if you believe in Allah's Religion Islamic Monotheism, and avoid polytheism, and obey Allah with righteous deeds). 45 and whenever a revelation out of their Lord's revelations comes to them, they ignore it. 46 And when it is said to them: 'Spend of that which Allah has given you' the unbelievers say to the believers: 'Are we to feed those whom Allah can feed if He chooses? Surely, you are only in clear error' 47 And they say: "When will this promise come to pass, if what you say is true?" 48 They await just one scream, which will overcome them while they are involved in worldly disputes. 49 So they shall not be able to make a bequest, nor shall they return to their families. 50
