Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I CALL TO witness those who scatter (dust) by dispersing, 1 Then those clouds bearing the load (of minute things in space). 2 and the smooth runners 3 And the angels who distribute the affair. 4 Indeed, what you are promised is true. 5 And lo! the judgment will indeed befall. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 Verily ye are in a divided opinion. 8 and are turned away from him who is turned. 9 Woe to the falsehood-mongers,- 10 who are heedless in the immersion. 11 They ask: "When is the Day of Judgement?" -- 12 [It will be] a Day when they will be sorely tried by the fire, 13 Taste your persecution! this is what you would hasten on. 14 Lo! those who keep from evil will dwell amid gardens and watersprings, 15 Accepting the rewards given by their Lord; they were indeed virtuous before this. 16 sleeping little in the night-time, 17 and would ask for forgiveness at dawn, 18 In whose wealth the suppliant and the deprived had a share. 19 And on the earth there are signs for those who would be convinced. 20 just as [there are signs thereof] within your own selves: can you not, then, see? 21 In the sky is your provision and that which you are promised. 22 This, by the Lord of the heavens and the earth is as certain as your ability to speak. 23
