The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
O you (Prophet Muhamad), the cloaked, 1 Arise and warn! 2 And thy Lord do thou magnify! 3 Thy raiment purify, 4 and defilement flee! 5 And bestow not favors that you may receive again with increase, 6 But for your Lord be patient. 7 For when the Trump is sounded 8 it will be a hard day 9 Not easy upon the disbelievers. 10 Leave Me (to deal) with him whom I created lonely, 11 and whom I have granted abundant wealth 12 And children present [with him] 13 and made all things smooth for him; 14 Yet is he greedy-that I should add (yet more);- 15 Never! For he is an enemy to Our signs! 16 I shall inflict on him hardship, 17 Indeed he thought, and inwardly decided. 18 death seized him, how was his determining! 19 Again (self-)destroyed is he, how he planned! - 20 Then looked he, 21 Then frowned and grimaced. 22 Then he turned away, and was haughty. 23 And said: This is naught else than magic from of old; 24 This is naught but the word of a mortal. 25 Him shall I fling unto the burning. 26 And what will explain to thee what Hell-Fire is? 27 It shall not spare, nor leave. 28 it scorches (even) the skin. 29 Above it are nineteen guards. 30 We have appointed none but angels to guard the Fire, and made their number only as a trial for the unbelievers, so that those to whom the Book was given are certain and those who believe increase in belief. And that those who were given the Book, and those who believe will not be in doubt. And that those in whose hearts there is a sickness, together with the unbelievers, may say: 'What did Allah intend by this as an example' As such, Allah leaves in error whom He will and He guides whomsoever He will. None knows the hosts of your Lord except He. This is no more than a Reminder to humans. 31
