Nay, by the Moon 32 Consider the night when it departs, 33 By the dawn when it lightens! 34 Verily, it (Hell, or their denial of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, or the Day of Resurrection) is but one of the greatest calamities. 35 A warning unto humankind 36 alike to every one of you, who want to go forward or hang back. 37 Each one is a hostage to one's deeds, 38 Except those of the right hand 39 In Gardens (Paradise) they will ask one another, 40 And (ask) of the Sinners: 41 “What took you into the hell?” 42 They said, “We never used to offer the prayer.” 43 And we used not to feed the poor; 44 and we were wont to indulge in sinning together with all [the others] who indulged in it; 45 And we used to call the day of judgment a lie; 46 Until the certainty (of death) had come upon us. 47 Then the intercession of the intercessors shall not profit them. 48 What is then the matter with them, that they turn away from the admonition 49 like startled wild donkeys 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay, but everyone of them desireth that he should be given open pages (from Allah). 52 No, indeed they have no fear of the Everlasting Life. 53 but this is truly a reminder. 54 Then whoever wills will remember it. 55 And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness. 56
