He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ HE FROWNED AND turned away, 1 Because there came to him the blind man, [interrupting]. 2 And what do you know, he may be of the pure! 3 or take heed and derive benefit from [Our] warning? 4 But the self-sufficient, 5 So you are after him! 6 Whereas it is not on thee that he is not cleansed. 7 But as for him who cometh unto thee with earnest purpose 8 And whereas he fears, 9 of him you were unmindful. 10 No indeed; this is only a Reminder. 11 So let him who pleases mind it. 12 On honoured leaves 13 Exalted, Purified, 14 [Carried] by the hands of messenger-angels, 15 noble and pious. 16 May man be slain – how ungrateful he is! 17 From what has God created him? 18 From a (sperm) drop He created him and then determined him, 19 Then He eased the way for him; 20 then makes him to die, and buries him, 21 Then when He pleases, He will bring him back to life. 22 No! Man has not yet accomplished what He commanded him. 23 Let man therefore consider (the sources of) his food. 24 How We poured down water in torrents, 25 and let the earth to break open 26 Then We cause therein the grain to grow, 27 and vines, and reeds, 28 And olives and date-palms, 29 and dense orchards, 30 and fruits and herbage, 31 an enjoyment for you and your flocks. 32 But when the deafening blast is sounded, 33 On that day man will run away from his brother. 34 mother, father, 35 And his wife and his children, 36 Every man of them shall on that day have an affair which will occupy him. 37 Some faces that Day, will be bright (true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 38 laughing and joyful, 39 but others will be gloomy 40 Covered with the blackness (of shame): 41 Those, they are the unbelievers, the immoral. 42
