O YOU APOSTLES! Partake of the good things of life, and do righteous deeds: verily, I have full knowledge of all that you do. 51 Your nation is but one nation, and I am your Lord, therefore fear Me. 52 But their nations broke their tasks into pieces; every group happy with what it has. 53 So leave thou them in their perplexity for a time. 54 Do they think that in giving them wealth and children 55 Are quickly giving them goodness? In fact, they do not know. 56 Those who tremble in fear of their Lord, 57 Those who believe in the Signs of their Lord; 58 And those who join not anyone (in worship) as partners with their Lord; 59 And those who dispense their charity with their hearts full of fear, because they will return to their Lord;- 60 It is those who hasten to good deeds, and they outstrip [others] therein. 61 And We tax not any person except according to his capacity, and with Us is a Record which speaks the truth, and they will not be wronged. 62 Yet their hearts are oblivious of this; and besides, they are busy with other things, 63 Until, when We grasp those of them who lead a luxurious life with punishment, behold! They make humble invocation with a loud voice. 64 Supplicate not this day! Assuredly ye will not be helped by Us. 65 My revelations were recited unto you, but ye used to turn back on your heels, 66 being proud against it, talking foolishness by night. 67 Have they not pondered over the Word (of Allah, i.e. what is sent down to the Prophet SAW), or has there come to them what had not come to their fathers of old? 68 Or did they not know their Messenger, so they are toward him disacknowledging? 69 Or do they say: "There is madness in him"? Nay, he has brought them the truth - and the truth do most of them detest! 70 If truth had followed their whims and desires, heavens and earth and all that lives in them would have been brought to ruin. Rather We have brought them their Reminder. Yet they keep avoiding their Reminder. 71 Or is it that you ask them a recompense? But the recompense of your Lord is best, and He is the best of those who provide sustenance. 72 And verily, thou callest them onto a straight way 73 but those who do not believe in the Hereafter are ever prone to deviate from the Right Way. 74 ۞ If We had mercy on them and removed the distress which is on them, they would obstinately persist in their transgression, wandering in distraction to and fro. 75 And indeed We grasped them with punishment, so neither did they submit themselves to their Lord, nor do they cry humbly. 76 So that when at last We open up the gate of severe punishment on them they will be overwhelmed with despair. 77
