The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ The Beneficent (God) 1 Hath taught the Qur'an. 2 He created man, 3 He hath taught him utterance. 4 [At His behest] the sun and the moon run their appointed courses; 5 And the herbs (or stars) and the trees both prostrate. 6 He raised the sky and set the Balance 7 so that you should not transgress the measure. 8 And observe the weight with equity, and make not deficient the balance. 9 And the earth He laid [out] for the creatures. 10 There exists all kinds of fruits, palm-trees with sheathed blossoms, 11 And grain chaffed and other food. 12 Which of the bounties of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 13 He created the human from clay, like earthenware 14 And created jinns from the white-hot flame of fire. 15 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 16 [He is] Lord of the two sunrises and Lord of the two sunsets. 17 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 18 He has made the two oceans meet each other, 19 With an interstice between them which they cannot cross. 20 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 21 From them come forth the pearl and the coral. 22 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 23 To Him only belong the sailing ships, raised above the sea like hills. 24 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 25
