The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO witness the sky (bespangled) with the signs of the Zodiac, 1 And the promised day, 2 And the witness and the witnessed, 3 (Self-)destroyed were the owners of the ditch 4 the fire abounding in fuel, 5 They sat by it 6 witnessing what they were doing. 7 whom they hate for no other reason than that they believe in God, the Almighty, the One to whom all praise is due, 8 To Him only belongs the kingship of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is a Witness over all things. 9 Indeed those who troubled the Muslim men and Muslim women, and then did not repent – for them is the punishment of hell, and for them is the punishment of fire. 10 Those who believe, and do righteous deeds, for them await gardens underneath which rivers flow; that is the great triumph. 11 The grip of your Lord is indeed severe, 12 Surely He it is Who originates and reproduces, 13 And He is the Forgiving, the Loving, 14 Owner of the Throne, the Exalted. 15 Doer of whatsoever He intendeth. 16 Have you not heard the story of the hosts 17 of Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 Yet those who deny the truth persist in denial. 19 But God surrounds them from all sides. 20 This is indeed the glorious Qur'an 21 in a Guarded Tablet. 22
