Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 Faces on that Day shall be downcast, 2 Travailing, worn. 3 Entering into burning fire, 4 and will be made to drink from a boiling spring, 5 For them there will be no food except from a poisonous, thorny plant 6 unfattening, unappeasing hunger. 7 Faces on that Day shall be delighted, 8 Pleased with their striving,- 9 in a Garden on high, 10 Where they shall neither hear harmful speech nor falsehood, 11 In it is a flowing spring. 12 [and] there will be thrones [of happiness] raised high, 13 and goblets placed ready, 14 And cushions ranged 15 and outspread carpets. 16 Have they not looked at how the camel is created, 17 And the heaven – how it has been raised? 18 And the mountains, how they are firmly fixed, 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Remind them, for thou art but a remembrancer, 21 You are not a warden over them, 22 But whosoever will turn back and disbelieve 23 Allah will chastise him with the most terrible chastisement. 24 Indeed, to Us they shall return, 25 and verily, It is for Us to call them to account. 26
