Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the night enshrouding 1 And [by] the day when it appears 2 Consider the creation of the male and the female! 3 O men, you truly strive towards the most diverse ends! 4 As for he who gives and fears Allah 5 and affirmed the Truth of goodness: 6 We shall ease the way of fortune for him. 7 But he who does not give and is unconcerned, 8 And disbelieveth in goodness; 9 We will indeed make smooth for him the path to Misery; 10 Nor will his wealth profit him when he falls headlong (into the Pit). 11 BEHOLD, it is indeed for Us to grace [you] with guidance; 12 And to Us belong the End and the Beginning. 13 Wherefore I have warned you of Fire flaming, 14 Which only the most wretched must endure, 15 Who give the lie to Truth and turn their backs. 16 But the righteous one will avoid it - 17 Who gives away his wealth, purifying himself 18 And have in their minds no favour from anyone for which a reward is expected in return, 19 except the pleasure of their Lord, the Most High 20 And he shall soon be well-pleased. 21
God the Almighty always says the truth.
