But none of them put faith in Moses except some youths among his people who were nonetheless afraid lest the Pharaoh and his nobles should persecute them; for the Pharaoh was mighty in the land, and guilty of excesses. 83 Moses said: "O my people, if you do believe in God place your trust in Him if you are obedient." 84 So they said: on Allah We rely, our Lord! make us not a trial for the wrong-doing people. 85 And, of Thy mercy, save us from the folk that disbelieve. 86 We inspired Moses and his brother with this Message: "Provide dwellings for your people in Egypt, make your dwellings into places of worship, and establish regular prayers: and give glad tidings to those who believe!" 87 And Musa (Moses) said: "Our Lord! You have indeed bestowed on Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and his chiefs splendour and wealth in the life of this world, our Lord! That they may lead men astray from Your Path. Our Lord! Destroy their wealth, and harden their hearts, so that they will not believe until they see the painful torment." 88 Allah said: surely the petition of you twain is accepted, so keep straight on, and follow not the path of those who know not. 89 ۞ And We brought the Children of Israel over the sea; and Pharaoh and his hosts followed them insolently and impetuously till, when the drowning overtook him, he said, 'I believe that there is no god but He in whom the Children of Israel believe; I am of those that surrender.' 90 What! now! and indeed you disobeyed before and you were of the mischief-makers. 91 “This day We shall salvage your body so that you may be a sign for those after you; and indeed most people are neglectful of Our signs.” 92
