Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ O MAN! 1 We did not bestow the Qur'an on thee from on high to make thee unhappy, 2 Except as a reminder for one who fears. 3 Sent down by One Who created the earth and the lofty heavens. 4 the Most Gracious, established on the throne of His almightiness? 5 His is whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever on the earth and whatsoever is in between and whatsoever is underneath the earth. 6 And if you speak aloud - then indeed, He knows the secret and what is [even] more hidden. 7 Allah! there is no god but He! To Him belong the most Beautiful Names. 8 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 9 Recall what time he saw a fire and said to his household, bide ye! verily I have perceived a fire! haply I may bring you from it a brand or may find at the fire a guidance. 10 And when he came to it, he was called, "O Moses, 11 “Indeed I am your Lord, therefore take off your shoes; indeed you are in the holy valley of Tuwa!” 12 And I have chosen thee, so hearken unto that which is inspired. 13 Verily I am God; there is no god but I; therefore serve Me, and perform the prayer of My remembrance. 14 Verily the Hour (of the great change) is about to come. I keep it secret that every soul may be rewarded for its endeavour. 15 Do not let those who disbelieve in it and follow their desires bar you from it, or you will perish. 16 "And what is that in the right hand, O Moses?" 17 He said: This is my staff whereon I lean, and wherewith I bear down branches for my sheep, and wherein I find other uses. 18 The Lord said, "Moses, throw it on the ground". 19 and he cast it down, and behold it was a serpent sliding. 20 (Allah) said, "Seize it, and fear not: We shall return it at once to its former condition".. 21 And draw in your hand to your side; it will come out white without disease - another sign, 22 That We may show you of Our greater signs: 23 “Go to Firaun, he has rebelled.” 24
