The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Prosperous are the believers, 1 those who are humble in their prayer; 2 And who keep aloof from what is vain, 3 who give charity, 4 Who abstain from sex, 5 except with their wives and what their right hand possess, and then they are not blamed. 6 As for those who seek beyond that, they are transgressors" 7 those who are faithful to their trusts and promises; 8 and who guard their prayers [from all worldly intent]. 9 Those are the heirs 10 Who will inherit Paradise: they will dwell therein (for ever). 11 Man We did create from a quintessence (of clay); 12 Then We made him a small seed in a firm resting-place, 13 then We made this drop into a clot, then We made the clot into a lump, then We made the lump into bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, and then We caused it to grow into another creation. Thus Most Blessed is Allah, the Best of all those that create. 14 after this you shall surely die. 15 Then (again), surely, you will be resurrected on the Day of Resurrection. 16 We made several highways one over the other above you. We are not neglectful of creation. 17 We sent down water from the sky in due measure and lodged it in the earth, but if We please, We have the power to take it away, 18 Then We brought forth for you therewith gardens of date-palms and grapes, wherein is much fruit for you, and whereof you eat. 19 And a tree that springeth forth from Mount Sinai that groweth oil and relish for the eaters. 20 There is a lesson for you concerning cattle. We provide you with drink from their bellies and many other benefits. You can consume them as meat. 21 And upon them and on ships you are carried. 22
