And rehearse to them (something of) Abraham's story. 69 when he asked his father and his people: "What do you worship?" 70 They said: We worship idols, so we shall be their votaries. 71 He asked them, "Can the idols hear you when you pray to them 72 or can they benefit or harm you?" 73 They exclaimed: But we found our forefathers doing the same!" 74 He said, 'And have you considered what you have been serving, 75 you and your forefathers of yore? 76 "Verily! They are enemies to me, save the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists); 77 "Who created me, and it is He Who guides me; 78 "And it is He Who feeds me and gives me to drink. 79 and, whenever I am sick, heals me, 80 He who will cause me to die and bring me back to life; 81 And He Who, I long, shall forgive me my faults, on the Day of Requital. 82 [And he said], "My Lord, grant me authority and join me with the righteous. 83 And give unto me a good report in later generations. 84 And make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Delight. 85 and forgive my father, for he is one of those astray. 86 And humiliate me not on the Day whereon people shall be raised. 87 The Day whereon will profit neither substance nor sons. 88 Except him who comes to Allah with a heart free (from evil). 89 On the Day of Judgment Paradise will be brought near the pious 90 and Hell shall be revealed to the misguided, 91 And it will be said unto them: Where is (all) that ye used to worship 92 Beside Allah? Can they succour you or succour themselves? 93 Then they will be thrown headlong into Hell, both they and the misguided ones, 94 and the hosts of Iblis, all together. 95 And they will say while they dispute with one another, 96 By Allah! we were certainly in manifest error, 97 when we made you equal with the Lord of the Worlds. 98 And none has brought us into error except the Mujrimun [Iblis (Satan) and those of human beings who commit crimes, murderers, polytheists, oppressors, etc.]. 99 Now we have no intercessors, 100 nor a loving friend. 101 “So if only were we to go back, in order to become Muslims!” 102 Surely, in that there is a sign, yet most of them do not believe. 103 And verily, your Lord! He is truly the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 104
