The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Was there not a period of time when man was nothing worth mentioning? 1 Verily We created man out of a drop of intermingled sperm so that We might try him, and We therefore endowed him with hearing and sight. 2 We surely showed him the way that he may either be grateful or deny. 3 Indeed, for the unbelievers We have prepared chains, fetters and a Blazing (Fire). 4 As to the Righteous, they shall drink of a Cup (of Wine) mixed with Kafur,- 5 From a spring of which the votaries of God will drink and make it flow in abundance. 6 They [are those who] fulfill [their] vows and fear a Day whose evil will be widespread. 7 And feed the needy for the love of Him, and the orphans and the captives, 8 We only feed you for Allah's sake; we desire from you neither reward nor thanks: 9 "Verily, We fear from our Lord a Day, hard and distressful, that will make the faces look horrible (from extreme dislikeness to it)." 10 So Allah saved them from the evil of that Day, and gave them Nadratan (a light of beauty) and joy. 11 And shall recompense them for that which they patiently bare with a Garden and silken garment. 12 Reclining there upon couches, they shall see neither the sun nor the moon. 13 near them shall be its shades, and its clusters hung meekly down, 14 Rounds of silver cups and silver beakers, looking like glass, will be presented upon them. 15 Clear glasses [made] from silver of which they have determined the measure. 16 There are they watered with a cup whereof the mixture is of Zanjabil, 17 Which is a spring in Paradise called Salsabeel. 18 ۞ And boys of everlasting youth will go about attending them. Looking at them you would think that they were pearls dispersed. 19 wherever you look, you will see bliss and a great kingdom: 20 Their garments will be of fine green silk, and gold embroidery. They will be adorned with bracelets of silver, and their Lord will give them a pure drink. 21 (And it will be said unto them): Lo! this is a reward for you. Your endeavour (upon earth) hath found acceptance. 22
