He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 Because there came to him the blind man (i.e. 'Abdullah bin Umm-Maktum, who came to the Prophet (Peace be upon him) while he was preaching to one or some of the Quraish chiefs). 2 How could you know? Perhaps he would cleanse himself, 3 Or be reminded and the remembrance would benefit him? 4 For him who does not care, 5 to a rich man, 6 Whereas it is not on thee that he is not cleansed. 7 And as to him who comes to you striving hard, 8 and fearfully, 9 you pay him no heed. 10 No! Indeed, these verses are a reminder; 11 so let those who want to follow its guidance do so. 12 It is contained in scrolls highly honoured, 13 lofty and pure, 14 In the hands of scribes 15 Honourable and Virtuous. 16 Be cursed (the disbelieving) man! How ungrateful he is! 17 [Does man ever consider] out of what substance [God] creates him? 18 From a single sperm He created, then proportioned him, 19 then the way eased for him, 20 He will then send him to death and have him laid in the grave. 21 Then, when it is His Will, He will resurrect him (again). 22 Nay, but man did not fulfil what Allah had enjoined upon him. 23 Then let man look to his food, 24 We poured water, pouring it in great abundance, 25 then We split the earth in fissures 26 Thereby produced grain in it. 27 And grapes and green fodder 28 and olives and palms, 29 and dense-tree'd gardens, 30 and fruits and pastures 31 an enjoyment for you and your flocks. 32 But when the deafening cry comes, 33 On the Day a man will flee from his brother 34 And from his mother and father, 35 And his wife and his children, 36 Everyman, that Day, will have enough to make him careless of others. 37 Some faces will shine, 38 laughing, rejoicing at glad tidings. 39 And other faces, on that day, with dust upon them, 40 Veiled in darkness, 41 Those are the disbelievers, the wicked ones. 42
God Almighty has spoken the truth.

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
