And Nuh did certainly call upon Us, and most excellent answerer of prayer are We. 75 We saved him and his family from the great affliction, 76 and We made his offspring the only survivors. 77 And left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: 78 Peace be unto Noah among the peoples! 79 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 80 He was one of Our believing servants. 81 Then We drowned the disbelievers. 82 ۞ And most surely Ibrahim followed his way. 83 When he came to his Lord with a pure heart [attached to Allah Alone and none else, worshipping none but Allah Alone true Islamic Monotheism, pure from the filth of polytheism]. 84 When he said to his father (paternal uncle) and his people, “What do you worship?” 85 "Is it a falsehood- gods other than Allah- that ye desire? 86 What do you think of the Lord of the whole Universe?” 87 Then he looked at the stars, looking up once, 88 And he said, "I am indeed sick (at heart)!" 89 But they went away from him, turning their backs. 90 Thereupon he approached their gods stealthily and said, "What! You do not eat [of the offerings placed before you]? 91 What is amiss with you that you do not speak?" 92 Then he attacked them, striking with his right hand. 93 So the people descended upon him. 94 He said: Worship ye that which ye yourselves do carve 95 when it is Allah who created you and all that you do' 96 They said, "Build him a furnace, and throw him into the blazing fire!" 97 And they desired a war against him, but We brought them low. 98 And he said, “Indeed I shall go to my Lord Who will guide me.” 99 Lord, grant me a righteous son." 100 So We gave him good tidings of a forbearing boy. 101 And when he reached with him [the age of] exertion, he said, "O my son, indeed I have seen in a dream that I [must] sacrifice you, so see what you think." He said, "O my father, do as you are commanded. You will find me, if Allah wills, of the steadfast." 102 When they had surrendered, and he flung him upon his brow, 103 We called out to him "O Abraham! 104 You have fulfilled the dream (vision)!" Verily! Thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 105 Verily that! that was a trial manifest. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 and left for him among the later folk 108 Peace be unto Ibrahim: 109 Verily We! thus We compense the well-doers. 110 Surely he was one of Our believing servants. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Ishaq, a Herald of the Hidden, from among those who deserve Our proximity. 112 and We blessed him and Isaac: but among the offspring of these two there were [destined] to be both doers of good and such as would glaringly sin against themselves. 113
