Hast thou considered him who turns his back 33 and grudgingly spends very little for the cause of God? 34 Has he knowledge of the Unknown that he perceives everything? 35 Or has he not been told of what is in the scrolls of Moses, 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his trust? -- 37 That no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another 38 And that man hath only that for which he maketh effort, 39 That his endeavours will be judged, 40 Then he will be fully repaid for it? 41 And that unto thy Lord is the goal. 42 And that it is He who makes [one] laugh and weep 43 and that it is He who makes to die, and that makes to live, 44 and that He Himself created the two sexes: male and female, 45 From a drop of semen when emitted; 46 and that [therefore] it is within His power to bring about a second life; 47 and that it is He who gives wealth and riches, 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius, 49 And that it is He Who destroyed the (powerful) ancient 'Ad (people), 50 And Samood, so He spared not 51 And the people of Noah before. Indeed, it was they who were [even] more unjust and oppressing. 52 And He destroyed the overthrown cities [of Sodom to which Prophet Lout (Lot) was sent]. 53 so that there came upon them that which came. 54 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The (Judgment) ever approaching draws nigh: 57 None but God can avert it. 58 Do you then marvel at this discourse, 59 Will you laugh at it rather than weep? 60 While you are proudly sporting? 61 Therefore prostrate for Allah, and worship Him.
