Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ I CALL TO WITNESS the Day of Resurrection, 1 and nay, I swear by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Surely yes, why not? We can properly make all his phalanxes. 4 But man would fain deny what is before him. 5 He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 but when the sight is dazed 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 And the sun and the moon are joined, 9 on that Day man will ask, "Where can I escape?" 10 No, there shall be no (place of) refuge. 11 Upon that day the recourse shall be to thy Lord. 12 On that Day man will be informed of what he sent forward (of his evil or good deeds), and what he left behind (of his good or evil traditions). 13 nay, man shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 even though he may veil himself in excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 It is for Us to collect it and to give you (O Muhammad SAW) the ability to recite it (the Quran), 17 So, as We recite it, follow its reading. 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 By no means! Verily ye love the Herein. 20 And leave alone the Hereafter. 21 [Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant, 22 Looking at their Lord. 23 And [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted, 24 Thinking that some calamity was about to fall on them; 25 Never so, for when life withdraws into the clavicula, 26 And they will say, “Is there any one – any magician?” 27 And he knoweth that it is the parting; 28 and leg is intertwined with leg, 29 The drive will be, on that Day, to your Lord (Allah)! 30
