To whosoever blinds himself from the Remembrance of the Merciful, We shall assign him a satan so he is his companion, 36 Such (evil ones) really hinder them from the Path, but they think that they are being guided aright! 37 And when he comes before Us, he shall say: 'Would that there had been between me and you, the distance of the two Easts' Evil is the companion. 38 And never will it benefit you that Day, when you have wronged, that you are [all] sharing in the punishment. 39 Can you, (O Prophet), then make the deaf hear, or direct to the Right Way the blind or one lost in manifest error? 40 Even if We take you away from the world, We shall surely take vengeance on them 41 Or if We shew thee that wherewith We threaten them, verily We are going to prevail over them. 42 Hold thou fast wherefore to that which is revealed unto thee: verily thou art on the straight path. 43 The Quran is a reminder to you and to your people and you will soon be questioned about it. 44 And ask those of Our apostles whom We sent before you: Did We ever appoint gods to be worshipped besides the Beneficent Allah? 45
