The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 And those who undo the bonds gently, 2 And by those that swim along (i.e. angels or planets in their orbits, etc.). 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 And those who govern the event, 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 (Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety. 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 and behold! They will all come out in the open. 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 [If so,] then I shall guide thee towards [a cognition of] thy Sustainer, so that [henceforth] thou wilt stand in awe [of Him].'" 19 And thereupon he [went to Pharaoh and] made him aware of the great wonder [of God's grace]. 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 then he mustered 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
