The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the pluckers (the angels of death), violently plucking (the souls of the unbelievers), 1 and gently take it away; 2 And who glide with ease. 3 And who quickly present themselves. 4 Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), 5 [HENCE, think of] the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world,] 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 It will be only one scaring shout, 13 And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned his back, striving. 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
