The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 The stars turn dim and scatter, 2 And when the mountains are made to pass away, 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 And when the books are spread, 10 when the sky is unveiled, 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 Go straight, or hide; 16 by the night when it approaches 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 And the Qur’an is not the recitation of Satan the outcast. 25 So where are you going? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
