The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the night when it envelopeth, 1 And [by] the day when it appears 2 and by Him Who created the male and the female: 3 Indeed your efforts differ. 4 As for he who gives and fears Allah 5 and confirms the reward most fair, 6 Unto him therefore We shall indeed make easy the path to ease. 7 But as for him who is niggardly, and thinks that he is self-sufficient, 8 and he belied the finest 9 We will make smooth for him the path for evil; 10 and what will his wealth avail him when he goes down [to his grave]? 11 Truly! Ours it is (to give) guidance, 12 And indeed, to Us belongs the Hereafter and the first [life]. 13 Therefore do I warn you of a Fire blazing fiercely; 14 None shall roast therein but the most wretched, 15 Who denies and turns away. 16 But the righteous one will avoid it - 17 who spend for the cause of God and purify themselves. 18 And none hath with him any favour for reward, 19 Except as seeking (to fulfil) the purpose of his Lord Most High. 20 And presently he shall become well pleased. 21
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
