1/4 Hizb 31

(O Muhammad), they ask you about Dhu al-Qarnayn. Say: "I will give you an account of him." 83 Lo! We made him strong in the land and gave him unto every thing a road. 84 He set out (westwards) on an expedition, 85 to the West where he found the sun setting into a warm source (spring) of water and a people living near by. We asked him, "Dhu 'l-Qarnayn, you may punish them or treat them with kindness?" 86 He said, "We shall certainly punish him who does wrong; then he shall be brought back to his Lord who will punish him with a grievous punishment, 87 “And regarding one who believed and did good deeds so his reward is goodness; and we shall soon give him an easy command.” 88 He travelled again 89 to the East where he found the sun rising upon a people whom We had exposed to its rays. 90 So (it was)! And We knew all about him (Dhul-Qarnain). 91 Then he followed the road, 92 after this to the middle of two mountains where he found a people who could hardly understand a single word. 93 They said: "O Zul-qarnain! the Gog and Magog (People) do great mischief on earth: shall we then render thee tribute in order that thou mightest erect a barrier between us and them? 94 He said: That wherein my Lord hath established me is better (than your tribute). Do but help me with strength (of men), I will set between you and them a bank. 95 bring me blocks of iron." Then, when he had filled the gap between the mountain sides [he said], "Now blow on the fire with your bellows." When the iron blocks were red with heat, he said, "Bring me molten brass to pour on them." 96 So they were not able to scale it nor could they make a hole in it. 97 He said: "This is a mercy from my Lord: But when the promise of my Lord comes to pass, He will make it into dust; and the promise of my Lord is true." 98 ۞ And on that Day We shall let some of them surge like waves against others, and the Trumpet shall be blown. Then We shall gather them all together. 99 And We shall present Hell that day for Unbelievers to see, all spread out,- 100 whose eyes were covered against My remembrance, and they were not able to hear. 101
