O Ye apostles! eat the good things and work righteously; verily of that which ye work I am the Knower. 51 And verily, this community of yours is one single community, since I am the Sustainer of you all: remain, then, conscious of Me! 52 But they (men) have broken their religion among them into sects, each group rejoicing in its belief. 53 So leave them in their bewilderment for a while. 54 Do they think that by all the wealth and offspring with which We provide them 55 have no other purpose except to help them in acquiring material benefits? No indeed. But they do not understand. 56 Verily those who live in awe for fear of their Lord; 57 And those who believe in the signs of their Lord – 58 And those who ascribe not partners unto their Lord, 59 and those who give to others what has been bestowed upon them with their hearts trembling at the thought that they must return to their Lord; 60 it is they who vie with one another in doing good works and shall be the foremost in doing so. 61 And We tax not any person except according to his capacity, and with Us is a Record which speaks the truth, and they will not be wronged. 62 Nay, but their hearts are in ignorance of this (Qur'an), and they have other works, besides, which they are doing; 63 So that when We seize the affluent among them with affliction, they will begin to implore for help. 64 Do not cry out for help this day, for surely you shall not be helped by Us. 65 My communications were indeed recited to you, but you used to turn back on your heels, 66 In arrogance; talking nonsense about the Quran, and left him like one telling fables by night. 67 Is it then that they do not ponder over what is said, or is it that there has come to them that which did not come to their fathers of old? 68 Or is it that they did not recognize their Messenger (Muhammad SAW) so they deny him? 69 Or do they say, "He is possessed"? Nay, he has brought them the Truth, but most of them hate the Truth. 70 Had the truth followed their fancies, the heavens, the earth, and all who live in them would have surely been corrupted. No, We brought them their Remembrance; but from their Remembrance they turn away. 71 (Do they disbelieve because) you asked them for payment? The reward that you will receive from your Lord is the best. He is the best Provider. 72 And lo! thou summonest them indeed unto a straight path. 73 And verily those who believe not in the Hereafter are from the path deviating. 74 ۞ Even if We showed them mercy and relieved them of their afflictions, they would still persist in their transgression, wandering blindly. 75 And indeed We seized them with punishment, but they humbled not themselves to their Lord, nor did they invoke (Allah) with submission to Him. 76 So that when at last We open up the gate of severe punishment on them they will be overwhelmed with despair. 77
