Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
A. L. M. 1 These are the verses of the Wise Book, 2 A guidance and a mercy for the well-doers: 3 who establish the prayer, pay the obligatory charity, and firmly believe in the Everlasting Life. 4 these are rightly guided by their Lord: and these are the ones who will prosper. 5 (In an attempt to show that God's revelations are only ancient legends) some people pay for meaningless tales to draw others attention away from the Quran without knowledge and treat as a matter of fun. They will suffer a humiliating torment. 6 Whenever Our messages are conveyed to such a person, he turns away in his arrogance, as though he had not heard them -- as though his ears were sealed: give him, then, the tidings of grievous suffering [in the life to come]. 7 Indeed, those who believe and do righteous deeds - for them are the Gardens of Pleasure. 8 where they shall live for ever. The promise of Allah is the truth; He is the Almighty, the Wise. 9 He created the heavens without any pillars visible to you and He placed mountains in the earth as pegs lest it should turn topsy turvy with you, and He dispersed all kinds of animals over the earth, and sent down water from the sky causing all kinds of excellent plants to grow on it. 10 Allah has created this – therefore show me what has been created by those other than Him; in fact the unjust are in open error. 11
