The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ (Allah) Most Gracious! 1 Has taught (you mankind) the Quran (by His Mercy). 2 He has created man: 3 Taught him the mode of expression. 4 The sun and moon revolve to a computation; 5 The stars and the trees prostrate themselves. 6 And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance 7 In order that ye may not transgress (due) balance. 8 And observe correct measure, weigh with justice, and not cheat the balance. 9 And earth -- He set it down for all beings, 10 Therein is fruit and palms having sheathed clusters, 11 And also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-scented plants. 12 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord, will ye twain belie? 13 He created man from dry clay like earthen vessels, 14 whereas the invisible beings He has created out of a confusing flame of fire. 15 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 16 [He is] the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunrise, and the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunset. 17 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 18 He has given freedom to the two great bodies of water, so that they might meet: 19 between them a barrier they do not overpass. 20 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 21 Out of them both come out pearl and coral. 22 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 23 To Him only belong the sailing ships, raised above the sea like hills. 24 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 25
