۞ NAY, I call to witness the coming-down in parts [of this Qur'an] 75 and that is a mighty oath, if you but knew 76 Behold, it is a truly noble discourse, 77 In a Book Hidden. 78 None shall touch it save the purified ones. 79 It is a revelation from the Lord of the worlds. 80 Do you, then, take this discourse in light esteem, 81 And make it your provision that ye should belie it? 82 So why was it not, when the soul reaches up to the throat, – 83 right before your very eyes? 84 We are closer to him than you, even though you cannot see? 85 why, then, if you are not subject to Our command, 86 Cause ye it not to return, if ye say sooth? 87 Then, if he is one of the honoured, 88 (There is for him) Rest and Satisfaction, and a Garden of Delights. 89 If he is of those of the right hand, 90 [he, too, will be welcomed into paradise with the words,] "Peace be unto thee [that art] of those who have attained to righteousness!" 91 And if he be of those who treat (Truth) as Falsehood, who go wrong, 92 Then for him is entertainment with boiling water. 93 and a roasting in Hell. 94 Lo! this is certain truth. 95 So celebrate with praises the name of thy Lord, the Supreme. 96
