Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The sure calamity! 1 What is the Inevitable Hour? 2 Would that you knew (in detail) what the Inevitable is! 3 Samood and Ad called the striking calamity a lie. 4 The Thamuds were destroyed by a violent blast of sound. 5 as for Aad, they were destroyed by a howling, violent wind 6 Which He made to prevail against them for seven nights and eight days unremittingly, so that you might have seen the people therein prostrate as if they were the trunks of hollow palms. 7 Can you see any of their survivors? 8 And Pharaoh and those before him, and the communities that were destroyed, brought error, 9 And they disobeyed the Apostle of their Lord, so He punished them with a vehement punishment. 10 [And] behold: when the waters [of Noah's flood] burst beyond all limits, it was We who caused you to be borne [to safety] in that floating ark, 11 In order to make it a remembrance for you, and in order that the ears that store may remember. 12 And when the trumpet shall sound a single blast. 13 And the earth and mountains heaved and crushed to powder with one levelling blow, 14 on that Day, the Event occurs. 15 and heaven shall be split, for upon that day it shall be very frail, 16 And the angels will be on the sides thereof, and eight will uphold the Throne of thy Lord that day, above them. 17 That Day, you will be exhibited [for judgement]; not hidden among you is anything concealed. 18 Then as to him who will be vouchsafed his book in his right hand, he shall say: here! read my book! 19 I was certain I'll be given my account." 20 So he will be in a pleasant life - 21 In a lofty Garden – 22 The fruits of which are near at hand: 23 Eat and drink at ease for that which you have sent on before you in days past! 24 And whoever is given his book in his left hand – he will say, “Alas, if only my account were not given to me!” 25 "And that I had never known, how my Account is? 26 Would that it (my death) had ended it all! 27 My wealth hath not availed me, 28 and our belief has destroyed us". 29 'Take him, and fetter him, 30 Roast him in Hell, 31 Then, in a chain whereof the length is seventy Cubits, bind him. 32 “Indeed he refused to accept faith in Allah, the Greatest.” 33 Nor urged others to feed the poor. 34 "So no friend hath he here this Day. 35 Nor any food save filth 36 Which none but the wrongdoers eat. 37
