Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
O you the (sleeping) enwrapped one! 1 rise (to pray) the night except a little; 2 For half the night, or reduce some from it. 3 or a little more; and with recitation, recite the Koran. 4 For we shall charge thee with a word of weight. 5 Surely the rising by night is the firmest way to tread and the best corrective of speech. 6 Surely you have in the day time a long occupation. 7 And remember the Name of thy Lord, and devote thyself unto Him very devoutly. 8 He is the Lord of the East and the West. There is no god but He. So take Him alone as your protector. 9 Bear patiently whatever they say, do not yield to them and keep on preaching decently to them. 10 And leave them to Me – these wealthy deniers – and give them some respite. 11 Verily, with Us are fetters (to bind them), and a raging Fire. 12 and food that chokes, and a painful chastisement, 13 On the day when the earth and the hills rock, and the hills become a heap of running sand. 14 We have sent an Apostle to you as a witness against you, as We had sent an apostle to the Pharaoh. 15 But Pharaoh disobeyed Our Messenger, so We seized him with a terrible seizing. 16 If you persist in denying the truth how will you escape the Day that will turn the children's hair grey. 17 On that day, the heavens will be rent asunder. This is the decree of God which has already been ordained. 18 This is indeed an advice; so whoever wishes may take the path towards his Lord. 19
