The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 And what will make you know what the comer by night is? 2 It is the star that pierces through [life's] darkness: 3 There is no soul but has a protector over it. 4 Let man consider what he was made of: 5 Created from a gushing fluid. 6 Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 and [man] will have neither strength nor helper! 10 By the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And by the earth which splitteth, 12 the Quran is the final word, 13 And is not a matter of amusement. 14 They (disbelievers) plot every evil plan, 15 and I am devising guile. 16 Therefore give them some respite give them some time. 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
