Al-Aadeyaat
The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By oath of those that sprint, breathing heavily. (The horses used in Holy War.) 1 Then those striking sparks of fire, 2 then raid by the dawn, 3 thereby raising clouds of dust, 4 which engulfs the enemy. 5 Indeed, the human is ungrateful to his Lord. 6 He himself bears witness to that. 7 for, verily, to the love of wealth is he most ardently devoted. 8 ۞ But does he not know that [on the Last Day,] when all that is in the graves is raised and brought out, 9 And that within the breasts is obtained, 10 Verily, that Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection) their Lord will be Well-Acquainted with them (as to their deeds), (and will reward them for their deeds). 11
