Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful

The craving for excess wealth kept you people neglectful. 1 Until you confronted the graves. 2 No! You are going to know. 3 Then no! You are going to know. 4 Nay! If you knew with a sure knowledge (the end result of piling up, you would not have occupied yourselves in worldly things) 5 For ye will behold hell-fire. 6 In the end you will indeed, most surely, behold it with the eye of certainty: 7 Then you will surely be asked that Day about pleasure. 8

God the Almighty always says the truth.
