T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Ta Ha. 1 We have not sent the Quran to make you, (Muhammad), miserable, 2 but only as an exhortation to all who stand in awe [of God]: 3 A down-sent from Him who Created the earth and the heavens high. 4 The Beneficent God is dominant over the Throne (of the realm). 5 Unto Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on earth, as well as all that is between them and all that is beneath the sod. 6 And if you speak aloud – so He surely knows the secret and that which is more concealed. 7 Allah - there is no deity except Him. To Him belong the best names. 8 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 9 Recall what time he saw a fire and said to his household, bide ye! verily I have perceived a fire! haply I may bring you from it a brand or may find at the fire a guidance. 10 And when he reached it, he was called by name: O Moses! 11 Indeed, I am your Lord, so remove your sandals. Indeed, you are in the sacred valley of Tuwa. 12 I have chosen you as My Messengers. Listen to the revelation. 13 “Indeed it is Me, Allah – there is no God except I – therefore worship Me and keep the prayer established for My remembrance.” 14 Although it is certain that the Day of Judgment will come, I prefer to keep it almost a secret so that every soul will receive the recompense for what it has done (on its own). 15 Therefor, let not him turn thee aside from (the thought of) it who believeth not therein but followeth his own desire, lest thou perish. 16 "Now, what is this in thy right hand, O Moses?" 17 He said: This is my staff whereon I lean, and wherewith I bear down branches for my sheep, and wherein I find other uses. 18 Said He: "Throw it down, O Moses!" 19 So he threw it down, and lo! it was a rapidly moving snake. 20 Allah said:"Grasp it, and fear not, We shall return it to its former state, 21 "Now place thy hand within thy armpit: it will come forth [shining] white, without blemish, as another sign [of Our grace,] 22 That We may shew thee of Our Signs the greatest. 23 Go thou unto Pharaoh! Lo! he hath transgressed (the bounds). 24
