The Stars (Al-Najm)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the star when it descends, 1 your comrade is not astray, neither errs, 2 nor does he speak out of desire. 3 It is no less than inspiration sent down to him: 4 He has been taught by the Extremely Powerful. 5 The Lord of Strength; so he attained completion, 6 standing poised at the highest point on the horizon, 7 then came down close 8 he was but two bows' length or even nearer, 9 Then he revealed to Allah's servant whatever he had to reveal. 10 The (Prophet's) (mind and) heart in no way falsified that which he saw. 11 Will you dispute with him what he saw? 12 And certainly he saw him descend a second time: 13 At the Lote Tree of the Utmost Boundary - 14 Near it is the Garden of Refuge - 15 When there comes to the Lote Tree, that which comes 16 The sight (of Prophet Muhammad SAW) turned not aside (right or left), nor it transgressed beyond (the) limit (ordained for it). 17 Assuredly he beheld of the sign of his Lord, the greatest. 18 Have you ever thought about al-Lat and al-Uzza, 19 and about the third deity, al-Manat? 20 Are yours the males and His the females? 21 This is certainly an unjust apportioning. 22 These are only names which you and your fathers have invented. No authority was sent down by God for them. They only follow conjecture and wish-fulfilment, even though guidance had come to them already from their Lord. 23 Shall man have whatsoever he wisheth for! 24 So (know that) Allah only is the Owner of all – the Hereafter and this world. 25
