The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ The Most Merciful 1 has taught the Quran to (Muhammad). 2 He created man, 3 He taught distinctness. 4 The sun and the moon run on their fixed courses (exactly) calculated with measured out stages for each (for reckoning, etc.). 5 And the herbs and the trees do prostrate (to Him). 6 And the sky He hath uplifted; and He hath set the measure, 7 so that you should not transgress the measure. 8 Give just weight and do not skimp the scales. 9 And earth -- He set it down for all beings, 10 In which are fruits, and covered dates. 11 And the grain with (its) husk and fragrance. 12 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 13 He created man of clay like the potter's, 14 and jinn from the many colored flames of fire. 15 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 16 He is Lord of the two easts and Lord of the two wests. 17 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 18 He has let loosed the two seas (the salt water and the sweet) meeting together. 19 Between them is a barrier which none of them can transgress. 20 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 21 Out of them come pearls and coral. 22 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 23 His too are the ships that run, raised up in the sea like land-marks. 24 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 25
