Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Say, (O Prophet), it was revealed to me that a band of jinn attentively listened to (the recitation of the Qur'an) and then (went back to their people) and said: “We have indeed heard a wonderful Qur'an" 1 "which guides to the Right Way; so we have come to believe in it, and we will not associate aught with Our Lord in His Divinity”; 2 and exalted is the majesty of our Lord, He has taken neither a wife nor a son. 3 And [now we know] that the foolish among us have been saying outrageous things about God. 4 and that “we had thought that men and jinn would never speak a lie about Allah”, 5 And there were men from mankind who sought refuge in men from the jinn, so they [only] increased them in burden. 6 ‘And that they assumed, like you humans assume, that Allah would not send any Noble Messenger.’ 7 And we have sought [to reach] the heaven but found it filled with powerful guards and burning flames. 8 we used to take up a position to listen, but whoever listens now finds a flaming fire lying in wait for him -- 9 And we know not whether evil is boded for those who are on the earth, or whether their Lord intendeth for them a right direction. 10 And of us there are some righteous, and of us are some otherwise; we have been following very diverse paths. 11 'But we think that we can by no means frustrate Allah throughout the earth, nor can we frustrate Him by flight. 12 When we heard the guidance, we believed in it; and whosoever believes in his Lord, he shall fear neither paltriness nor vileness. 13 And of us some are Muslims, and of us some are deviators. Then whosoever hath embraced Islam - such have endeavoured after a path of rectitude. 14 but as for those who have deviated, they have become firewood for Gehenna!"' 15 And that if they should keep to the (right) way, We would certainly give them to drink of abundant water, 16 "That We might try them by that (means). But if any turns away from the remembrance of his Lord, He will cause him to undergo a severe Penalty. 17 All places of worship are for God; so do not invoke any one with God. 18 And when the slave of Allah stood up in prayer to Him, they crowded on him, almost stifling. 19
