NAY, but consider the moon! 32 And the night when on the wane, 33 And by the dawn when it brightens, 34 Verily it is one of the greatest woes. 35 Warn the men. 36 to everyone of you, whether he chooses to come forward or to hang back! 37 Every person is a pledge for what he has earned, 38 except the people of the right hand 39 who will be in Paradise 40 About the criminals, 41 "What has caused you to enter Hell?" 42 They will say: "We were not of those who used to offer their Salat (prayers) 43 And we used not to feed the poor; 44 and we plunged along with the plungers, 45 And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 till the certainty (death) overtook us' 47 So no intercession of intercessors will be of any use to them. 48 Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away 49 As they were frightened asses 50 Fleeing from a hunter, or a lion, or a beast of prey. 51 Nay, every man of them desires to be -- given -- scrolls unrolled. 52 This will certainly never be the case! In fact, they are not afraid of the Day of Judgment. 53 but this is truly a reminder. 54 So whosoever willeth may heed it. 55 But they [who do not believe in the life to come] will not take it to heart unless God so wills: [for] He is the Fount of all God-consciousness, and the Fount of all forgiveness. 56
