The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the sky, (displaying) the Zodiacal Signs; 1 And the promised day, 2 by the Witness and the witnessed, 3 the people of the pit were destroyed 4 The people of the fuelled blazing fire. 5 When they sat by it 6 And they witnessed what they were doing against the believers (i.e. burning them). 7 And they resented them not except because they believed in Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Praiseworthy, 8 Him, Whose is the dominion of heavens and the earth. And Allah is over everything a Witness. 9 Those who persecuted the believing men and women and never repented, there is for them the punishment of Gehenna (Hell), and for them the punishment of the burning. 10 But those who believe and do good deeds shall be rewarded with gardens watered by flowing rivers. That is the supreme triumph. 11 The grip of your Lord is indeed severe, 12 Surely it is He who originates, and brings again, 13 And He is the Forgiving, the Loving, 14 in sublime almightiness enthroned, 15 Effecter of what He intends. 16 Has it come to you the story of the hosts 17 [Those of] Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 In fact, the disbelievers had always rejected (Our revelations). 19 And Allah encompasses them on every side. 20 Nay; but this is a glorious Qur'an, 21 [Inscribed] in a Preserved Slate. 22
