And do not ever assume that Allah is unaware of what the unjust do; He does not give them respite but for a day in which the eyes will become fixed, staring. 42 As they come hurrying on in fear, their heads upraised, their gaze returning not to them, and their hearts as air. 43 (O Muhammad), warn mankind of the Day when a severe chastisement shall overtake them, and the wrong-doers will say: "Our Lord, grant us respite for a short while; we shall respond to Your call and will follow Your Messengers." (But they will be clearly told): "Are you not the same who swore earlier that they shall never suffer decline?" 44 And you dwell in the abodes of those who were unjust to themselves, and it is clear to you how We dealt with them and We have made (them) examples to you. 45 They hatched their plots; but these plots were all within God's knowledge. Though their plots were such as to shake the mountains, God will bring their plots to nothing. 46 So do not deem that God will fail in His promise to His Messengers; surely God is All-mighty, Vengeful. 47 The day when the earth will he replaced by some other than the earth, as will be the skies, and every one will appear before God the one and omnipotent, 48 On that Day you shall see the guilty bound in chains, 49 Their garments of liquid pitch and their faces covered by the Fire. 50 That God may reward each soul for its deeds. Indeed God is swift at reckoning! 51 Here is a Message for mankind: Let them take warning therefrom, and let them know that He is (no other than) One Allah: let men of understanding take heed. 52
